On April 14, Zhang Qingwei, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of the Shandong Provincial Chamber of Commerce, led a delegation to the Galang Batang Special Economic Zone in Indonesia for a special research visit on the development of the special economic and trade cooperation zone. The purpose of the research visit was to gain a deeper understanding of the current development status of the special economic zone, promote the enhancement of Shandong Province's foreign economic and trade cooperation, and further deepen economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Indonesia.
During the visit, Vice Chairman Zhang Qingwei met with Riki Rionaldi, Head of the Industry and Trade Division of Riau Islands Province, and Vita, Representative of the Special Economic Zones. The two sides held cordial discussions on a variety of topics, including supporting the development of Special Economic Zones, deepening industrial cooperation, and establishing regular exchange mechanisms.
Next, Vice Chairman Zhang Qingwei and his delegation visited the special economic zone, conducting on-site inspections of key areas such as the company's exhibition hall, community, hospital, electrolytic aluminum company, Bintan Fine Chem Company, Nanshan Zhishang Garment Factory, Yingfa New Energy Company, as well as the port, reservoir, production area, and residential area of PT Bintan Alumina Indonesia Company. They gained a comprehensive understanding of the special economic zone's planning layout, company operations, environmental protection measures, residential facilities, and industrial synergy.
Following the site visit, Vice Chairman Zhang Qingwei chaired a symposium on the construction of the Shandong-Indonesia Foreign Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone in the company's conference room. Representatives from various companies, based on their respective situations, focused on key areas such as production and operation, safe production, environmental protection, and coordinated industrial chain development, and reported on their specific work and progress.
Zhang Qingwei pointed out that the Bintan Industrial Park in Indonesia is a key project for Shandong Province to actively participate in the Belt and Road Initiative and deepen international production capacity cooperation, and has become an important platform for Shandong companies to "go global together." He put forward three requirements for the future development of the Special Economic Zone: First, the zone must play a demonstrative and leading role, systematically summarize replicable and scalable experience, and explore new paths for the construction of foreign economic and trade cooperation zones in the province; second, the zone must continuously improve its development level, upgrade the industrial chain, optimize the business environment, and continuously enhance its attractiveness and competitiveness; third, the zone must firmly adhere to the principles of safety and environmental protection, and promote the region's stable and sustainable development. He emphasized that the Shandong Provincial Chamber of Commerce will continue to provide strong support in terms of policy guidance, coordination, and services.
