This June marks China's 25th National Safe Production Month, with the theme: "Everyone Talks About Safety, Everyone Knows Emergency Response — Identifying, Investigating, and Eliminating Risks and Hazards." As a Chinese-invested enterprise with a strong presence in Indonesia, Indonesia Bintan Alumina Co., Ltd. has actively adopted China's safety production management standards and implemented the Safety Production Month initiatives promoted by the China Chamber of Commerce in Indonesia. Guided by the safety management policy of "Safety First, Prevention First, and Comprehensive Management," the company continues to extend China's well-established safety management system to its overseas operations, effectively preventing and mitigating various production safety risks. Recently, focusing on key priorities such as hazard identification and remediation, as well as enhancing employees' emergency response capabilities, the company organized a series of practical emergency drills tailored to the operational conditions of its Indonesian production facilities. These activities have further strengthened the safety management framework at its overseas operations while significantly enhancing employees' safety awareness and emergency response capabilities.
【Focusing on Risk Identification and Hazard Mitigation: Multi-Scenario Emergency Drills Strengthen Safety Preparedness】
Centered on the theme of "Identifying, Investigating, and Eliminating Risks and Hazards," the alumina refinery organized a series of comprehensive emergency drills across its workshops and departments. The drills covered various emergency scenarios, including fire, electric shock, heatstroke, and chemical spills. The exercises emphasized the critical role of emergency evacuation routes in ensuring safe evacuation and effective emergency rescue, enabling employees to become familiar with emergency operating procedures and evacuation routes under unexpected circumstances. All participants responded swiftly, evacuated in an orderly manner, and carried out rescue operations in strict accordance with established emergency response plans. These drills further enhanced employees' ability to identify potential hazards and strengthened their practical skills in responding to emergency situations.








【Realistic Absorber Tower Fire Drill Tests Emergency Response Coordination】
The power plant conducted an emergency fire drill at Absorber Tower No. 4. The exercise simulated a fire breaking out in the absorber tower area. Upon discovering the incident, on-site personnel immediately activated the emergency response plan, promptly organized the rescue of injured personnel, and carried out initial firefighting measures. A safety perimeter was quickly established, while the evacuation team guided personnel in an orderly manner to designated safe areas. Fire engines arrived promptly and worked in coordination to extinguish the fire. The entire drill was conducted in a well-organized and efficient manner, effectively validating the practicality of the fire emergency response plan and the interdepartmental coordination mechanism during emergency situations.








【Simulated Gas Poisoning Incident Enhances Professional Emergency Rescue Capabilities】
The coal gasification plant conducted an emergency drill simulating a gas poisoning incident. The exercise simulated a worker losing consciousness due to gas exposure caused by a gas leak during operations. Upon discovering the incident, the on-site safety supervisor immediately reported the situation and activated the emergency response plan. Rescue personnel entered the scene wearing portable self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), quickly evacuated the affected worker from the hazardous area, and administered first aid, including oxygen therapy. The individual was then transferred to the medical clinic for further observation and treatment in accordance with established procedures. The drill was carried out in an organized, timely, and standardized manner, effectively demonstrating the practicality and effectiveness of the emergency response plan.




【Caustic Soda Leak Drill Strengthens Hazardous Chemical Emergency Management】
The port conducted an emergency drill simulating a caustic soda (sodium hydroxide) leak. The exercise simulated a leakage from an unloading pipeline. Upon discovering the leak, on-site personnel immediately issued warnings, instructed nearby workers to evacuate to an upwind location, and simultaneously carried out emergency shutdown procedures, power isolation, the establishment of a safety perimeter, and the designation of the contaminated area. Emergency responders, equipped with full acid- and alkali-resistant protective gear, carried out leak containment operations and recovered the residual caustic soda from the ground. After the leak was successfully sealed, the affected area was left under observation and re-inspected to ensure that no secondary leakage had occurred. The drill comprehensively evaluated the company's emergency response capability, personnel protection measures, and on-site incident management for hazardous chemical leakage incidents.




Through the comprehensive implementation of this year's "Safe Production Month" activities, the company has further strengthened safety awareness among all employees, improved its emergency management system, and enhanced its capabilities in risk identification, hazard mitigation, and emergency response.
